Valjean's Change of Identity

Valjean arrived to a city in which there was a fire. He entered the fire and rescued 2 men. Valjean becomes a heroe and therefore nobody asks his papers. He then rips them and makes himself pass as Father Madelina.

Fantine and Cosette

Fantine is the mother of Cosette. Fantine had a romance in her earlier years with some guy in which she got pregnant and before they both knew he dumped Fantine. As a single and poor mother Fantine raised Cosette.

Bishop's Help

After Jean Valjean reached a small town, a laid on a bench and fell asleep on its rock solid techsture. He was ten woken up by a lady who asked him why he doesnt sleep in an inn. Jean said that nobody wants him inside their inn but then the lady said to try the inn beside the bishop's house. Jean went into the inn with an entrace that caused fear to those in the room except for the bishop. The bishop after hearing his entrance let Jean eat and sleep in one of his chambers. This resembled some hope for what Jean believed he lost.

Jean's Yellow Passport

Jean Valjean was rejected in all the taverns and inns he visited. This was becuase the every town he visited required Jean to show his yellow passport therefore he was treated unfairly.The innkeepers made up excuses to kick him out becuase they do not want a criminal wandering in their inn. They didnt care if Jean had money.

Prison

Jean Valjean was condemmed to a sentence of 4 years into prison for stealing a loaf of bread. He was then sentenced 15more years for trying to escape 4 times.
After 19 years he was then set free and given a yellow passport which indicated that he is a released convict.
